Joseph Chih | director, writer, cinematographer

Joseph Chih is currently an M.F.A. candidate in film directing at the California Institute of the Arts.

He studied film and cinematography at Syracuse University, College of Visual and Performing Arts, in Syracuse, NY.

 

He has written and directed several short films that have been selected by film festivals such as the Syracuse International Film festival, and the 3rd New Era Film Festival.

 

In his films, he strives to create a meditative type of cinema, where he uses visual images of landscapes to create associations to pursue an interesting narrative. He is especially interested in narratives that explore a sense of estrangement in intimate relationships and the way how it transforms.
